The largest contract which Pearson Driving Assessments delivers is the driving theory test on behalf of the Driving Standards Agency.

Pearson VUE is taking an active role within the Pearson group in developing a Sustainable Development Action Plan in the UK in collaboration with its clients.

This action plan sets out the commitment made by Pearson VUE to carry on its business activities embracing the principles of sustainable development and to achieve the targets it has set.

Pearson plc achieved Carbon Trust Standard accreditation in 2010, which recognises organisations for real carbon reduction. A particular focus for us is climate change, as one of the most serious issues facing the planet. There are several ongoing Government initiatives with regard to sustainable development and in particular the strategy “Securing the Future” has had an effect on the approach taken to manage the impact Pearson VUE’s operation has on the environment, society and the economy.

The purpose of this action plan is to take Pearson VUE forward in a way that fosters sustainability throughout its policies, people, operations and procurement to the benefit of the environment and anyone who is touched by the operation of the business.

This action plan has been developed following discussions with clients, Pearson plc and with the members of the Environment and Sustainability Forum at Pearson VUE.
