Basic Description and Role Objective

This position interfaces with test centres, candidates, internal staff, management, exam delivery sponsors and exam sponsors to investigate and report compliance with security requirements in the business.

This position will also be responsible for the design, implementation and tracking of existing and new quality and security procedures, policies and programs to ensure that Pearson VUE becomes the highest quality testing provider in the eyes of all audiences and, in particular, our key clients.

It is essential that the individual supports and implements the company policies and procedures around Quality, Security, and Health & Safety.

 

Reporting to
  • Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and own security projects for increasing compliance within the business.
     
  • Develop and maintain compliance programs across the test centre networks, and providing analysis and investigative support for security issues.
     
  • Make recommendations for technology and process improvements to support security policies and initiatives.
     
  • Investigate security risks and incidents, and proactively own their resolution.
     
  • As required, recommend and implement corrective action such as re-training, suspension or termination of testing centres.
     
  • Be an ‘expert and spokesperson’ to all internal parties, to raise internal awareness and mindshare of the quality and security message.
     
  • Act as an escalation point for quality and security compliance issues, and in turn escalate where appropriate to the Compliance Manager.
     
  • Effective and timely completion of tasks and objectives as set by manager and at all times to request support and assistance when required.
     
  • Be the spokesperson within the business for Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.

Key Tasks
  • Conduct thorough investigations into security risks and incidents, working with internal staff, systems and data, as well as third parties to assemble the required information.
     
  • Maintain accurate and extensive documentation of results.
     
  • Report on the status of investigations within the required timeframes to ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
     
  • Apply appropriate tools and methodologies to system data to proactively identify areas of security risk and incidents of misconduct.
     
  • Oversee the management of candidate surveys, site visits, and integrity shopper programs with a view to achieving performance metrics and managing partner and vendor quality.
     
  • Prepare and interpret regional and global security performance metrics for senior management and clients.
     
  • Perform background and other checks for investigations.
     
  • Develop, maintain and communicate efficient quality and security processes to relevant parties
     
  • Internal quality auditing.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as information security, operations or project management, research or investigation.
     
  • At least 4 years experience in a related function, involving management of security / fraud investigations and resolution.
     
  • Experience gathering and presenting information to support legal actions.
     
  • Attention to detail and a strong level of commitment to a task.
     
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, aiding in influencing and persuading external parties.
     
  • Time management and prioritisation skills, leading to the ability to balance the demands of multiple projects at any given time.
     
  • Evidence of problem solving and analytical skills, both in line with established processes and procedures, and also using creativity to develop innovative new policies.
     
  • The ability to exercise discretion in the conduct of sensitive investigations into compliance breaches.
     
  •  Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and associated packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Internet packages.

Preferred Skills
  • Additional EMEA Language (French or German)
     
  • Experience and understanding of the testing industry preferred.

Working Arrangements
  • Normal office environment, 37.5 hours per week.
     
  • Some travel to other Pearson offices and test centres may be required.
