Learning, Development and Training Charter

Link Learning and Development with our Business Plan
  The primary purpose of Learning and Development is to help Pearson VUE meet corporate aims and objectives by ensuring you and your colleagues have the Skills, Knowledge and Competencies you need to do your jobs effectively. To support this, where possible, Learning and Development objectives will be integrated with corporate aims and objectives at all levels.

Open and Fair access to Learning and Development
  Everyone will have open and fair access to appropriate Learning and Development opportunities, irrespective of religious belief, political opinion, racial group, age, marital status/dependents, sexual orientation, gender or disability.

Identify and prioritise Learning and Development needs systematically
 

Employees will identify their Learning and Development needs with the support of their Line Manager. The outcome of discussions with your Line Manager is that you agree a Personal Development Plan (PDP) together as part of the Performance and Development Review (PDR) process, and review it through the year.

The Learning and Development Department will bring together all the requirements from your PDR, your colleagues’ PDR, your team/department and corporate requirements and prioritise these according to corporate aims and objectives at all levels.

Learning and Development is resourced appropriately
 

The Senior Management Team will agree annually both central and departmental budgets for Learning and Development activity.

All departments will produce a Learning and Development plan
 

Managers will produce a Learning and Development plan for the year which will prioritise Learning and Development with due regard to corporate aims and objectives.


Learning and Development will be linked to external certification/qualification where possible
 

All Learning and Development activity will be designed with all possible links with externally accredited standards. The Learning and Development Department will advise on external certification/qualification and support the implementation as appropriate.


We will regularly evaluate L&D against personal and corporate objectives
 

Employees and Line Managers, with support from the Learning and Development Department, will evaluate all Learning and Development activities. The Learning and Development Department will produce an annual Learning and Development report accessible to everyone containing details of Learning and Development activity, investment and outcomes.
