BLOOMINGTON, Minn., January 6, 2012
The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) will transition administration of its Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) testing programme to Pearson VUE. This high-stakes exam will be available throughout the Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of more than 260 Pearson Professional Centers as well as select test centers throughout the world.

CLARB ensures that all individuals who affect the environment through the practice of landscape architecture are sufficiently qualified to do so. The organisation also helps current and future practitioners understand, obtain and maintain the knowledge, skills and abilities required to practice the profession safely. CLARB also ensures that the public has access to the services of as many competent design professionals as possible by supporting licensure efforts and reducing the barriers to interstate and international practice.

Through the preparation, administration and scoring of the LARE, CLARB provides a vital public protection service. “Our partnership with Pearson VUE will allow us to better serve our stakeholders and enhance our exams, playing a key role in advancing our mission to foster public health, safety and welfare related to the use and protection of the natural and built environment through the practice of landscape architecture,” said Joel Albizo, CLARB Executive Director. “We look forward to building our programme through the global testing network Pearson VUE has created.”

“We are pleased that CLARB has chosen Pearson VUE for its test delivery,” said Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. “The services of a CLARB-certified professional make a tremendous difference to the environment that we all experience daily.”
