Testing to take place across 16 centres on 5 May 2012

NEW DELHI, 12 APRIL 2012 – More than 50 law colleges across India now recognise the Law School Admission Test (LSAT)—India, providing successful candidates with a wide range of colleges to pursue careers in law.

The test, which is conducted globally by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), assesses critical-thinking skills, logical reasoning, problem-solving skills and traits that are needed for a successful career in law.

The number of colleges recognising the LSAT—India has increased by over 60% in the past year, with the test fast becoming a preferred measure for selecting aspiring professionals.

On 5 May 2012, Pearson VUE – the computer-based testing business of Pearson – will deliver the LSAT—India from 16 highly secure test centres across the country.

Dan Bernstine, President, Law School Admission Council, said: “The increase in the acceptance of the LSAT—India shows that Indian law colleges are recognising the test’s value as a scientifically-based measurement tool for law school admission and success.”

Prof. C. Raj Kumar of Jindal Global Law School, said: “I strongly believe in testing students aptitude skills, rather than their memory alone. That is why the LSAT—India is the perfect way to test candidates and boasts a 60-year history of helping colleges to determine the most suitable law course applicants.”

Candidates can register for the 140-minute test at www.pearsonvueindia.com/lsatindia.

Pearson VUE is providing candidates with the option to download a free sample test from www.pearsonvueindia.com/lsatindia/test_prep.html – where they can also buy the Official LSAT—India Handbook.

Sandeep Dua, Vice President, Pearson VUE India, said: “We are delighted to have acceptance from so many prestigious law colleges. From the feedback we have received, colleges have accepted the LSAT—India as an admissions criterion due to the neutrality of the test. I expect even more colleges to adopt the test due to its design, rigour and scientific approach.”
