BLOOMINGTON, Minn., September 1, 2010 — Pearson, the global leader in education, technology and services, today announced the appointment of a new five-member advisory board for its UExcel credit-by-examination program. These prestigious leaders in international studies, online learning, educational assessment and higher education will collaborate with UExcel’s executive team to develop and grow the credit-by-examination program.
Pearson and Excelsior College, an accredited, nonprofit distance-learning institution, launched the UExcel program—which includes a range of college-level subject area examinations—to respond to the growing demand from students and parents for ways to save money on college tuition. Offering students the opportunity to turn their knowledge into college credit, credit by examination is accepted by thousands of colleges and universities.
