Pearson VUE are responsible for delivering both the online and test centre examinations for each of the above courses. Working closely with CITB to ensure that each delegate has the best customer experience before, during and after their end of course exam.

Types of Examination

CITB eCourses have two forms of delivery you can choose from for your examination. Both of which are scheduled via your CITB eCourses dashboard once you have completed the course material in full.

Invigilated examinations delivered at a Test Centre

CITB eCourses examinations are delivered in a proctored environment at an approved Pearson VUE® Test Centre. To schedule an examination or locate a Test Centre, please do so via your eCourses dashboard.

Invigilated examinations delivered online

CITB eCourses examinations can be delivered in a proctored online environment at your own home or office. To schedule your online examination, please do so via your eCourses dashboard.

Scheduling

Examination appointments should be made in advance; however, it is possible to book an online exam on the day you wish to test, subject to availability. The examination appointment testing time limit noted on Pearson VUE web pages reflects the total appointment time, including a tutorial, exam time, and survey.

Do you need any accommodations?

At CITB eCourses we offer the following specialist assistance arrangements to a delegate, both of which are only available via test centre delivery:

  1. A Reader recorder
  2. A British Sign Language Interpreter.

If you would like to book your examination with such specialist assistance, please contact Pearson VUE on VUECITBeCoursesSupport@pearson.com or 0345 850 8789.

Under 18s testing information

For an online examination delegates under the age of 18 require a legal parent or guardian to be present during the check in process to give verbal consent. The reason for this is because Pearson VUE record all online exams and minors (under 18) are not legally allowed to consent for themselves to being recorded by a third party. If you are under the age of 18 and come to take your exam without a parent or guardian present, you will not be able to proceed with your exam and will have to pay to re-schedule.

For a test centre examination delegates over the age of 16 can attend and complete an exam without the need for parental consent. If you are under the age of 16 the parental consent form must be complete and provided to the centre at the time of exam delivery.
