LONDON, UK, April 5, 2018 – Brightest GmbH, which entered into an agreement with Pearson VUE to deliver different language variations of the ISTQB® (International Software Testing Qualifications Board: www.istqb.org) certification exams worldwide in December 2017, has now launched an online proctored version of its exams.
Pearson VUE – which has been delivering the English, Spanish and German (French coming soon) versions of the ISTQB® exams via Pearson VUE’s network of over 5,000 test centres in 180 countries around the world since December – is now, from 5 April, additionally providing the online proctored service.
Online proctored exams are a flexible solution designed to complement existing methods of test delivery, not to replace them. Live proctors manage and supervise testing from a location other than where the candidate is taking the exam. All a candidate will need is a suitable device with an internet connection and webcam. Live proctoring is accomplished using audio/video streaming and remote monitoring, allowing the proctor to closely supervise the exam session and providing many of the same security controls as an in-person proctor.
After check-in, during which the candidate’s hardware and exam environment are confirmed and government-issued identification is verified, the proctor unlocks the exam and monitors candidate behaviour throughout the entire exam administration.
As part of the agreement, candidates who gain the certification (in addition to the high-resolution PDF certificate received directly from Brightest) will have the opportunity to showcase their credentials via Acclaim, an award-winning digital credential platform backed by Pearson. Badges issued through Acclaim can be shared over professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, via email, and other online destinations. Acclaim enables real-time verification of credentials, which provides secure, convenient management of professional achievements.
Matthew Poyiadgi, vice president EMEA at Pearson VUE, said: “The addition of online proctored exam delivery on top of our extensive global network of highly secure test centres means very high levels of convenience for Brightest’s candidates who can sit the tests wherever they are in the world on a date and time of their choice.”
Kyle Siemens, CEO of Brightest GmbH, said: “Online exams, or Brightest Private Exams as we call them, are simply another example of our policy at Brightest of helping our candidates reach their potential, and providing greater access to the exams themselves is a great way to help achieve that. Having two options for groups, Brightest Paper Exams and Brightest Green Exams (electronic version supported by Pearson Software), and two options for individuals, Brightest Center Exams (at any of the 5000+ Pearson VUE Test Centres) and now Brightest Private Exams, allows for flexible access to ISTQB exams on a global scale.”
Pearson VUE is delivering the following exams:
- Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
- CTFL, Agile Tester Extension (CTFL-AT)
- Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL)
- Test Manager (CTAL-TM)
- Test Analyst (CTAL-TA)
